About
I began my writing career scripting plays for my neighborhood friends and persuading our parents to come and watch with the promise of Oscar-winning performances. Growing up, our home was filled with books. My parents encouraged reading which also fueled my desire to write.
I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Due to my husband's many job transfers, I was able to teach in Illinois, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Before retiring, I was the librarian in a small school where I was passionate about introducing new and diverse books to my students. I now live in New Hampshire with my husband who has an excellent sense of humor and puts up with my outrageous ideas. Along with writing, I enjoy reading to our three granddaughters and grandson and engaging them in creative activities and play.
I have had two early chapter books published and have also been published in educational and children’s magazines. I’m a PAL member of SCBWI and the 12 x 12 Picture Book Writing Challenge. I believe in reading and writing books that children can use as magical tools to feed their curiosity and teach them about the world.
